One of the most recognized icons of Zuni Indian jewelry is the Sun Chief, this pendant was made in the 1970s by Andrew Dewa, d. 2001.
Turquoise, jet, coral and mother of pearl are mosaic set in sterling silver, with great skill, the feathers have carved details and there is a domed finish to the whole setting.
Andrew Dewa was so well known for this design, it became his signature piece.
The Chief with four feathers and silver earrings is 1 1/4" tall by 1" across the feathers. Signed.
We remember selling his work in the 1970s to the 1990s and it was always top of the line!
