One of the most recognizable designs woven by Navajo Indians is the Storm Pattern. We see early 20th century textiles with variations of it and the JB Moore catalog featured several in 1903 and 1911.This particular Navajo textile was woven in the 1970s with commercially dyed and spun wool, hence the evenness of the colors. The border is particularly nice with the flag type feathers, they almost look like flames. This floor rug measures 47" by 76" and is really quite even, the wind caught it while we took photos.
