Beautiful Number 8 turquoise is sky blue with fine black spider web matrix, 400 carats set in sterling silver. The concha belt was hand crafted in the 1950s, Navajo Indian, unsigned.
Ten round conchas measure 1 3/4" diameter, each set with 27 matching oval and round cabs of top quality, gem grade Number 8 turquoise. Eleven butterflies are 1 1/8" long, set with 7 cabs each. Total wearing length is 33 1/2" long.
What appears to be a bola tie was actually the buckle and will be converted back. It is 2" in diameter.
When it comes to fine American turquoise, this is as good as it gets! The classic Number 8 vein was all played out by the 1950s. It is one of the most sought after stones by collectors and Indian silversmiths.
It is extremely difficult to capture the depth of the color in a digital photo, and all monitors are different. This is the classic rich blue color.
