Traditional Pueblo pottery jar by Blue Corn, Crucita Calabasa of San Ildefonso Pueblo, circa 1970s has a wonderful gunmetal glow to the black surface. Reverse painted with the Avanyu design and a cloud band, this gracefully shaped jar stands 8" tall and 7" diameter.
Signed by Blue Corn, it may have been painted by her husband, though he never got credit! Due to the great firing, I would assume this was made in the 1970s. After that Blue Corn went on to polychrome pottery.
