Elegant pottery vase hand crafted by Maricopa Indian artist Mary Juan has the classic elongated neck and globular body for which the Maricopa are known. But nobody did it better than Mary Juan.
Perfectly shaped vessel is highly burnished red slip and painted with mesquite sap (which is light in color) in Mary's signature design. Pit fired. Signed.
Dating from the 1950s, this pottery gem is in wonderful original condition, no chips or cracks. Standing 10 1/2" tall, the body is 7" across.
