Navajo Indian rug in miniature by Rose Myer of Lower Greasewood. Rose is well known for her framed charts showing the plants used to make dyes. Included in each one is a tiny weaving on a loom. so it was natural for Rose to make miniature tapestries for us.
The soft rose color is actually dyed with cochineal, the black is from pinon pitch, sumac and ochre.
This miniature Navajo rug is 3 3/4" by 2". Twelve warps and twenty wefts per inch is a fine tapestry weave.
A small rug like this can be displayed with miniature pottery to enhance both pieces.
Buyer pays $10.00 for shipping.
