Coyotes on Silas Claw Navajo Pottery
Navajo Indian pottery, that is folk art, was created by Bertha and Silas Claw in the 1990s. Bertha would make a traditional clay wedding vase and Silas would decorate with applied clay and commercial bright paints. Inspired by the world around him, Silas featured coyotes on this Wedding Vase vessel. One red coyote is singing down the rain!

Nicely shaped pottery stands 7 1/2" tall and is 5" across. Wonderful original condition. Signed.

This pottery by the Claws is a real find! Just out of a local collection. Bertha and Silas Claw are featured in the Rosenak's book "The People Speak, Navajo Indian Folk Art". They were also the subject of a biographical article in the Spring issue of American Indian Art Magazine.

Buyer pays $15.00 for shipping and insurance.
