The original baby carrier as made by the Navajo Indians, is this cedar wood cradleboard. Called the "second mother", it would be padded with blankets, the baby is wrapped up then lashed in with the leather thongs. Security and convenience make this a wonderful baby carrier.Created for baby by the mother's brother, only after the birth, each cradleboard is blessed for the child. This is a doll sized cradleboard, measures 15 1/2" tall by 6" wide and the "rainbow" is 5 1/2" tall. Nice to display as a wall ornament or display your Indian baby doll.
