The Pima Indians of central Arizona have long been known for their beautiful willow baskets. People were collecting them by 1880. Well constructed with willow and devils claw over a grass bundle foundation, Pima Indian weavers had a great sense of design and proportion. This charming bowl measures 6 1/4" diameter by 2 3/4" deep. For an early 20th century basket it is in amazingly perfect condition! The devils claw design is of five stepped elements, could be rain and lightning. Buyer pays $10.00 for shipping. |
