A Salako Mana Kachina is created in clay by Hopi Indian artist Karen Kahe Charley of First Mesa. It is rare to have a potter create a Kachina figure and Karen has done an exceptional job of it!The gourd shaped body has a stem, the head supports a clay tableta with all parts joined seamlessly! Most impressive is her stone burnishing, all vertical, which enhances the super smooth finish. Standing 10" tall 5" diameter. Our collector bought this from Karen at the Hopi Show at Museum of Northern Arizona a few years ago. He has lost the Blue Ribbon that it won. Buyer pays $20.00 for shipping and insurance. |
