Ben Ortega was world famous for his santos, his favorite being St. Francis. From Tesuque, New Mexico, Ortega was the scion of a large family of carvers, including, Mike, Pete and Ben Jr.

This wonderful little carving stands 8 1/2" tall and has a robe belt. Purchased in 1977 from the artist.
