A lovely Wedding Vase by Maricopa Indian artist Mabel Sunn. What an unusual Hohokam style design she has painted! We must admit this is the second time we have had this piece, we sold it to our collector many years ago. But we have never seen another.

Beautifully hand built shape, nicely burnished, this vase stands 7" tall and is 6" across the spouts.

Very nice original condition, minor abrasions on one side. Signed.

Mojave and Maricopa pottery was collected by Bert Carlson of Scottsdale, Arizona, a major collector of Indian artifacts of Arizona. He began acquiring his art in about 1966, buying in galleries and at auctions and from other collectors. At the age of 92 in 2010, he divided up his collection among his three children, from whom we acquired this pottery.
