These rare baskets were collected by Bert Carlson of Scottsdale, Arizona, a major collector of antique Arizona Indian artifacts, especially baskets. This is the largest group of beaded Pima baskets ever assembled. He began acquiring his art in about 1966, buying in galleries and at auctions, and would commission pieces by the local weavers. At the age of 92 in 2010, he divided up his collection among his three children, from whom we acquired these baskets.
