Blue and white Padre beads decorate the rim of this old Pima Indian willow basketry bowl. A whirling dust devil in devils claw surrounds the bowl of split willow.

Created for the tourists to Arizona in the early 20th century, this wonderful and rare little basket is in fine original condition, some of the beads have been re attached. Great age patina!

Dimensions are 6" diameter by 2 1/4" deep.

Buyer pays $15.00 for shipping and insurance.

These rare baskets were collected by Bert Carlson of Scottsdale, Arizona, a major collector of antique Arizona Indian artifacts, especially baskets. This is the largest group of beaded Pima baskets ever assembled. He began acquiring his art in about 1966, buying in galleries and at auctions, and would commission pieces by the local weavers. At the age of 92 in 2010, he divided up his collection among his three children, from whom we acquired these baskets.
