Rare and wonderful primitive pottery storyteller figure by Damacia Cordero of Cochiti Pueblo. Her clay people certainly have a look all their own. This singing mother holds two children in her arms and she sits 7" tall by 5" front to back and 5" across. Signed. Penciled on the bottom is the date of 1988, stating she was already in her 90s. Perfect condition and charming. Damacia's storytellers are featured at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe. She is the mother of Josephine and Martha Arquero, both potters of fame.
