Old Hopi Indian Hemis Kachinas   $350.004

This pair of old Kachinas are mounted together on a board, one seems to be dancing, has a slight lean to his body. Although they are Hopi carved they are painted as Zuni "Sio Hemis".

Carved from dried cottonwood root they have nice painted details including the tableta designs. Some feather remnants. Mounted to a painted board they have a string attached to hang on the wall.... Click for details

Wonderful old Koyemsi, Mudhead Kachina from the 1950s. Great little details such as fully carved arms, legs feet and all his knobs. Kilt,scarf and stockings are painted on. Some old feather remnants. It is standing on a magnet, my guess is someone glued it on so he would stand securely.

this charming little Kachina stands 4 1/2" tall. some paint abrasion but otherwise fine condition.... Click for details


Vintage Hopi Kachina Loren Maktima   $375.004

Wonderful old Hopi carved Kachina of Ahote, circa 1950s. Ahote is representative of the Plains Indians and wears the Morning Star and has lots of feathers.

New Information came from the family of Loren Maktima,the Brokeshoulders, they indentify it as his work, based on the style of the feet and the concha belt of tacks with turquoise painted centers.... Click for details

Margaret b. 1937, and Luther Gutierrez d. 1987, of Santa Clara Pueblo were a brother and sister team of potters who made animalitos with multi-colored clay slips. Their parents were the famed artisans Lela d. 1969, and Van Gutierrez d. 1956, who created a pottery style different than the others at the Santa Clara Pueblo. They searched all over the Southwest for clays that would fire to many different colors. This is a large sized pottery raccoon, 4" tall by 4" long, made by Margaret and paint... Click for details
