Beautifully woven coiled tray features the Salako Mana, Hopi Indian Kachina, a favorite of the Hopi weavers. This small plaque has vegetal dyed red, yellow and black plus imbricated detail of the corn.The original tag says it was purchased in 1917 by Fred Metz, and the patina is certainly there.Excellent condition, even the woven hanger is intact.... A beautiful and rare double lobed Tus, Apache Indian water canteen, is woven with willow and coated with pinon pitch for water proofing.The elegant shape may be for ease of carrying, and certainly the fabric thong is nicely tied around it.
