Quechan Indian Pottery Bowl   SOLD!4

A rare and unusual pottery bowl with two faces from the Quechan Indians of the Colorado River. The handled bowl is pit fired, see the fire clouds on the bottom, and primitively painted with red and black.

The faces are classic Quechan with the square jaw and heavy brow. We have seen them pictured in Al and Carol Hayes' book, "The Desert Southwest, 4000 Years of Life and Art" and a couple of other places, but no one kn... Click for details

Light blue glass trade beads decorate the rim of this old Pima Indian willow basketry bowl. Four men worked in devils claw surround the bowl of split willow.

Created for the tourists to Arizona in the early 20th century, this wonderful and rare little basket is in perfect original condition, all the beads are sewn on with devils claw at the rim. Great age patina!... Click for details

From a new generation of carvers, Gabriel Lara of Shungopovi, Second Mesa, continues the trend of traditional style Hopi Kachina carving. Gabe is 19 years old, Sun Clan and learned his carving from relative Augustine Mowa.

This one piece carving of cottonwood root is nicely detailed and painted with strong colors. The Comanche Warrior has the buffalo headdress and carries a shield and spear.... Click for details

Lovely old Zuni Indian bracelet, three rows of finely cut turquoise set in sterling silver. Called needlepoint, the Zuni are famous for this beautiful style of jewelry.

The cuff is 1 1/8" wide, interior of the silver band is 5 1/2" plus the gap of one inch.
